Letting Go

By Libby Hawkins, TIWP Student

Unclenching my fists,
taking a deep breath,
letting go.
Understanding I can’t change
the past, present or future,
realizing people will do what they do.
Let it go.

Simple, right?

But what about the things
that I need help or attention
so you don’t lose them?

There has been so much loss
that we must let go but
why should we let go of something
that we may be able to keep?

This is great Libby! Sometimes holding onto the things that hurt or are imperfect help us shape decisions or frame things that happen in the future. Keep up the writing!! It’s such a gift.
