Grateful to Elizabeth Perlman for the ideas in her book “Word Magic” about trusting your intuition. Dedicated to “Otherwise” by Jane Kenyon (Poet, 1947-1995) because in the end, “It could have been otherwise.”
What if you could believe that your intuition was always guiding you?
What if you knew it to be true, and that the wisdom of the universe was to be shared with all?
What if you could trust completely the intentions of our natural world?
What if all your ideas could come to completion, even ones that others called “wonky” or “wooey”?
What if everything was possible and nothing lived outside that realm.
What if you grow up in a world never hearing that your ideas, thoughts, dreams, and visions were impossible?
What if you could feel safe in your body, in the streets, cities, and desolate beaches around you?
What if you put the utmost care into every thought, feeling, and idea that tore out of the locked cell in your brain?
What if you were able to live long enough to know that everything in your heart was true, that your life is an intricate piece of the whole, that you indeed matter, just as your ideas and the kindness you hold are what makes the world a joyous place?
What if you did believe that your intuition was always guiding you, would never stop guiding you, and here in this moment continued to guide you?
What if this thought alone is something that would make every single question mark an exclamation point at the intersection of ordinary and becoming alive, because in the end, it could have been otherwise!
