there was a new voice
that kept you company
it lingered around
the feet that kept you grounded
and made you say
“yes i am”
it swayed beside
the hips that kept you untamed
and made you say
“yes i am”
it nestled between
the breasts that let you bloom
and made you say
“yes i am”
it stung inside
a mouth that set you free
and made you say
“yes i am”
it burned
in the eyes that kept you alive
and made you say
“yes i am”
and as the voice grew louder
and louder
the only thing you could do
was listen
the new voice
was your own
it made you
“woman”
