When we met
you were everything, everywhere, all at the same time
and I was just a girl.
You were mountains built over time that used to be tiny hills
and I was just a girl.
You were castles and kingdoms dipped in starlight and sky
and I was just a girl.
You were forests, and mist, and dew at the crack of dawn
and I was just a girl.
You were clouds, and honey, and teardrops threatening to fall
and I was just a girl.
You were an ocean
and I was just a girl
who loved the crashing waves
but didn’t know how to swim.
