I didn’t believe them when they told me it was out of my control
“Let the adults handle it” they would say
And these words were followed by sickening, screeching, silence, as I held my breath
. . .
When I was a kid, all I wanted was to “let the adults handle it,” as I had nothing to known to lose, being at my young age
You don’t feel any satisfaction once you’re all grown up and you hear those words again tho, not when this time, the once “nothing” lost takes shape into losing a friend
“Let the adults handle it,” they told me, is that their response to everything? what if this person tells me it’s all because of me? I do wonder, Is there an automated response to that as well?
You see, that’s what they don’t tell you. What they don’t tell you, is that you can be everything to someone one day, and the next day, they paint you as the reason for all of their problems
“Let the adults handle it,” well we’ll see if they do.
