I want to fight for a kind of love that means something.
I want to fight for a love that opens the door for me,
and holds my hand when it needs to be held.
I want a love different from anyone else’s.
I want a love that bleeds outside the edges
and is there when I wake up in the morning.
I want to see this love in the mirror.
And in the foam on the top of my coffee.
This love will not fill any space not meant to be filled.
I will not let this love fake any feelings or represent something I don’t want it to.
I want this love to be a variation of what I know.
I want it to grow, and evolve, and make me a better person.
I don’t want to see this love in places I don’t ask for.
I want to fight for a love I can take a break from and return to when I’m ready.
