I am frustrated because I couldn’t kill the kitchen fly this morning.
He’d buzz around the kitchen seemingly with no plan,
but somehow he’d always escape my flyswatter,
no matter how hard I tried.
I am frustrated because I keep thinking about my homework
and I’m struggling to write freely because of it.
The words on the page are reminding me of the looming tower of essays I have to finish.
But that’s an issue for future me.
I am frustrated because I’m always busy during school season.
I feel like time is running away from me.
There’s so much I want to do in my free time
but that time is consumed by the tasks I have to do.
I am frustrated because life doesn’t always go
the way it was supposed to on paper,
the way time keeps running away from me,
the fly I can’t catch.
