I wonder what would happen if women ran the world. I would probably feel safer knowing that the place I lived in was run by people similar to me. Instead of feeling unsafe and unheard, maybe I would feel included and valued. I’m so tired of hearing men saying they are feminist. You’re a feminist until you start making sexist jokes. You’re a feminist until you ignore gender issues. You’re a feminist until I’m scared of you. You’re feminist until you start supporting laws that take away our rights. I sort of hate the patriarchy. Just like how America seems to hate the idea of a matriarchy because how has a convicted felon won against two female candidates who were both more composed, well-spoken, and well-educated? I know its no use blaming all of my problems on the government, but it really would feel nice if more women were in positions of power. It just sucks because sexism has been going on for a long time. I’m pretty sure that gender reforms just started happening a century ago and the centuries before that were just filled with sexism and abuse towards women that men instigated. Why is this being allowed to happen? Women make up half of the population, but we are often treated like we don’t exist at all.
