I want to remember this moment.
I want to remember the quiet in my head that comes from being away from that glowing screen. I want to remember the feeling of the grass beneath me, scratching my thigh just below the fray of my shorts.
I want to remember the crisp air of the night, holding my face in its hands.
I want to remember the sound of the crickets all around me, how their chirps create a symphony that never ends.
I want to remember the twinkle of the stars, how they look like daisies in the dark field of the sky. I want to remember the stillness of the world around me, how the houses sit politely lit up on the hill with a warm glow that comforts me.
I want to remember the feeling of his hand in mine, squeezing it tighter as if to say “I’m here”.
I want to remember this moment; I want make a polaroid of it and keep it in my back pocket wherever I go.
